Rockland — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) will host the second in a series of "Who Do You Love?" artist talks on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 3 p.m. on Zoom and Facebook Live. The popular series, which features CMCA Biennial artists presenting three works of art by other artists that they love and telling why, began with the 2014 CMCA Biennial and is now in its fourth edition.

This year's Biennial artists presenting on Jan. 10 are Brian Doody (Portland, ME), Kevin Ford (Portland, ME + Norwalk, CT), Ashley Normal (York, ME + Nashua, NH), and Susan L Smith (Dover-Foxcroft, ME). The "Who Do You Love?" format offers a unique opportunity to learn about each artist’s process, how they take inspiration from the work of other artists, and how deep looking informs their own work. A question and answer period will follow the presentations. The program is free of charge. For additional information and to register, visit cmcanow.org.

This edition of the CMCA Biennial features the work of 34 artists from 17 Maine communities. The selected artists were chosen from a pool of more than 500 individual submissions by jurors Nina Johnson-Milewski, owner, founder, and director of Nina Johnson Gallery, Miami, FL, and Kate McNamara, an independent curator and educator based in Providence, RI. The exhibition will remain on view at CMCA in Rockland through spring 2021, and is sponsored by The Via Agency, Portland.
