Recycled Arts Festival offers 'Meet the Artist' video visits - The Columbian

tapanggane.blogspot.com

While the live Esther Short Park event didn’t happen this summer, you can still enjoy a version of Clark County’s popular Recycled Arts Festival through a “Meet the Artist” video series that goes live Saturday.

Thirteen recycled-materials artists opened their studio doors for insider looks at how and why they “upcycle” used stuff into distinctive works of art. Beginning Saturday, find the video series at www.recycledartsfestival.com.

Also, a kid-friendly virtual event, “Let’s Craft Together,” is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 9. Attendees will be guided through creative crafts using commonly trashed items – and have the opportunity to show-and-tell about recycled crafts they’ve made in the past. Register for the free, virtual event at the Recycled Arts Festival site.

The 130-plus vendors listed on the Recycled Arts Festival website make metal and glass garden art, sculptures, mosaics, jewelry, clothing, furniture and wall art with a minimum of 75 percent recycled content.
