PEORIA (WEEK)- The City of Peoria honors Peoria's one and only Academy Award winner.
"It's surreal, I'm felling really surreal about it. Because I drove in and the signs already up on the street," says Tami Lane.
Lane says the entire day is ironic because she used to get teased for her last name sounding like a street and now it's a reality. "So my whole life I've been teased, Tami Lane and the whole road thing all sorts, But it's kind of funny it came to fruition."
She says she is happy her name will be associated to the neighborhood where she grew up. The entire community is proud of Peoria's own Tami Lane.
