Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have erected screens around the Beverly Hills area mansion where they are living, after it was discovered people could see directly onto the grounds.

Workmen were pictured outside the $18million home, owned by movie producer Tyler Perry, on Saturday - the first day Los Angeles County allowed some hiking trails to reopen as authorities relaxed lockdown measures.

After Parks & Recreation let Californians back onto popular hiking routes such as the Beverly Drive – Franklin Canyon Connector Trail on Saturday, locals taking dogs for walks and doing their daily exercise could see exactly where the couple are staying with their son Archie.

The area surrounding Beverly Ridge Estates features a steep hill which leads to the edge of the property and gives walkers an advantageous viewpoint.

But as the area is elevated about 800ft, the family can also see what's going on in the vicinity as Perry's property is surrounded by security cameras.

Harry and Meghan's positioning in the wealthy neighborhood, nearby Beverly Hills and West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, also allows them to look down at multi-million-dollar homes on the neighboring Beverly Park estate. They include Sylvester Stallone's property with an outdoor pool, Rod Stewart's French-style mansion with a soccer pitch and Mark Wahlberg's circular turret.

Parks have been quiet since the shutdown mid-March, around the same time Harry and Meghan flew to the US from Canada on Perry's private jet before borders closed.

But with the weather getting warmer and coronavirus social distancing measures being relaxed, the trail could experience some heavy traffic this summer.

The family might also want to get outdoors to enjoy the lovely pool area furnished with loungers.

However it's thought Harry and Meghan are only staying there while they search for a permanent place.

It's believed the couple were connected with Perry via Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke and Duchess are currently working on a documentary series with Oprah, while Perry has partnered with Oprah's OWN television channel in the past.

A source told DailyMail.com: 'Meghan and Harry have been extremely cautious to keep their base in LA under wraps. Their team helped them choose the location for their transition to Los Angeles wisely.

'Beverly Ridge has its own guarded gate and Tyler's property has a gate of its own which is watched by their security team. Beverly Ridge is an excellent place to keep out of view. The neighbors are mostly old money and mega rich business types rather than show business gossips.

'It goes without saying that the location is stunning — just one of the most beautiful and desirable areas in LA.'

It is also home to socialite Alexis Carson, the widow of popular talk show host Johnny Carson.

Top Hollywood real estate agent Rochelle Maize of the Nourmand & Associates agency told DailyMail.com: 'Beverly Ridge Estates has just 14 homes but is very prestigious and chic.

'There are not many rentals on offer there because of the limited number of properties.

'Leases start at around $20,000 and can go up to $40,000 a month. It costs around $16 million to buy a property there.'
