ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA21) - In Geneva, Mural Fest artist Zach Medler put the finishing touches on his artwork Sunday afternoon, surrounded by members of the small community.

Hours of continuous spray-painting over the weekend and help from two Mural Fest mentees allowed him to complete his mural in fewer than three days.

Geneva is a special place to Medler. It's where he was born.

Medler spent the first few years of his life in nearby Berne, before moving with his immediate family to Noblesville.

The artist said his installations primarily adorn small towns, because he's found the people who live in them have the most appreciation for the art.

"It's always a conversation. Always. I always have one idea of what I want on the wall and other people have other ideas of what they want on the wall. And then you come together and talk about it and compromise and come up with something that works for everybody. That's just part of the game," explained Medler.

Mural Fest continues through Friday, September 18.
