Block Club Chicago’s “It’s All Good” podcast is out with Episode 4!
The episode’s title is “The Skater and the Artist,” and it focuses on two Chicagoans using their talents to better their communities.
Enrico Hufana, a longtime skateboarder and commercial real estate broker, transformed a vacant storefront into a skate park to share his love of skateboarding with Chicago families, and to keep kids “socially, mentally and physically” active during the coronavirus pandemic.
Across town, Trenton, a 14-year-old West Side student, won a competition to design coffee bag packaging for Uptown cafe Drink Happy Thoughts. Sales of coffee with his city-inspired design benefitted the local Boys & Girls Club.
“It felt good knowing something I made will be in a store and seen by people,” Trenton tells “It’s All Good” host Jon Hansen. “That’s a really good feeling.”
Episode 4 also features Jamie Nesbitt Golden discussing The Park Supper Club in Washington Park. The new club wants patrons to party like it’s 1925, with live music and approachable food made by a local chef.
