For the seventh year, Lubeznik Center for the Arts is partnering with the Lindsey O’Brien Kesling Wishing Tree Foundation (LOK) to present the annual Young Artists Expo (YAE), a showcase of passionate artists ages 18 and under in all media. Young artists from area schools, organizations, and various community partners will be represented, including Safe Harbor, Boys and Girls Clubs of LaPorte County and Bloomington, LCA’s Teen Arts Council, and onsite classes.
The artworks, chosen through individual portfolio reviews with all the participants, create an impressive exhibition by these extraordinarily talented youth from across the region.
This LOK YAE exhibit will be on display in LCA’s NIPSCO Education Studio from May 28 through July 9. All of LCA’s galleries are open to the public six days per week, free of charge.
Join LOK Wishing Tree Foundation for a virtual celebration on Friday, June 4, at 6 p.m. This virtual event will feature the behind-the-scenes making of the YAE with interviews with the artists, pre-recorded performances, all of its partners, and more. To register for the free virtual celebration, go to the www.lokwishingtree.org home page and hit the “sign up” tab in the header, or go to the Lindsey O’Brien Kesling Wishing Tree Foundation Facebook page and tab on the event information. This is a FREE ticket that provides folks with a placeholder for attendance. This one-hour virtual celebration is a feel-good emporium realizing these artists’ dreams coming true. The artists include over 70 kids ages 8-18.
