Hunter Douglas Expands Design Studio Featured Artist Series - CEPro

Hunter Douglas, a global manufacturer of custom window treatments, has expanded its portfolio of fabrics to include collections from two artists: San Francisco-based textile designer Seema Krish and New York City-based visual artist Marcie Bronkar.

The lighting and shade company explains the Design Studio Featured Artist series provides designed textiles that can be used across a variety of shading projects to complement the connected home.

“We often hear there can be a disconnect between designers and integrators when it comes to talking about technology in the home, and Hunter Douglas serves as the perfect bridge to open the conversation,” states Maren Gehling, national sales manager, Custom Integrators.

“Members of our Custom Integrator Program have found that our vast collection of fabrics and designs, along with our PowerView platform, helps designers understand how the shades complete the connected home experience. The new Design Studio line adds another selling point to an integrator’s toolbox.”

Through its product line, Hunter Douglas boasts that offers the design aesthetic homeowners and designers are looking for, while also offering the convenience and interoperability that automated shading provides. Hunter Douglas also stresses the new Design Studio collections are designed to complement and coordinate with the Design Studio Core Fabric Line and the entire assortment of Hunter Douglas window treatments. Additionally, both Seema Krish and Marcie Bronkar’s collections are fully customizable and offered with a variety of operating systems including its PowerView automation hardware.

Seema Krish 

Seema Krish’s Artisanal Craftsmanship collection of seven fabrics borrow from the vibrant cultures and scenic beauty encountered in her journeys around the world. Rooted in heirloom hand-craft techniques together with modern processes, her designs are infused with vivid colors and striking dimensional beauty that delight the senses and make a bold style statement.

“I have been fortunate to experience many places around the world, and I find it’s always the light that inspires me,” says Krish of her collection. 

Marcie Bronkar 

Marcie Bronkar draws inspiration from historical period artwork and objects, reinterpreting them with a modern twist that forms the basis of her seven fabrics. Her collection features highly stylized patterns and nuanced colorways that pay homage to their historical roots while beautifully integrating with today’s more contemporary traditional décor.

“I feel a responsibility to interpret historical design in a modern way, so it can live in a modern home,” says Bronkar.

In addition to providing an extensive selection of fabric options, Hunter Douglas states that it is also committed to helping integrators drive business in the custom shading category.
