SEATTLE — During the month of November, American Heritage Month, Visit Seattle is encouraging people to explore and support indigenous-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

For 25 years, Dan Friday has been creating his own glass art while also working with notable artists such as Dale Chihuly, Paul Marioni, and Preston Singletary.

Friday is a member of the Lummi Nation.

Themes and images from his work are often drawn from his Coast Salish heritage. Friday said he is proud to represent his tribe and share his culture with everyone through glass art.

Throughout his career, Friday has shared his knowledge and work through teaching at the University of Washington, Evergreen State College, Pilchuck Glass School, and the Haystack Craft Center.

Friday's work can be seen at Stonington Gallery in Seattle, Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe, Ainsley Gallery in Toronto, Habatat in West Palm, Fla., and Schantz in Stockbridge, Mass.
