The City of Goose Creek is continuing its beautification project with a brand new mural.

The mural is being painted by Lowcountry artist Patch Whisky on a building in the 200 block of Red Road.

This is the fourth mural of its kind since the program kicked off in 2021.

“Well, the overall plan, my dream, is to have one on every major highway in the city,” the city’s Art Director Barbara Richardson said. "We want to be a city that residents are proud of and want to bring their families and hang out. We want to have festivals and we want people to be proud of. We want a boost in economic development.”

Richardson says the city has been eyeing Whisky to be a part of the project for the past two years.

Whisky is turning one of the city’s empty walls into a canvas of monsters—the subjects of his nationwide artwork.

He uses more than 100 cans of paint to create his art, which spans from Charleston to New York City.

"Got every color of the rainbow," Whisky said. “And a lot of people just get excited because they’ve seen the Monsters and been around town, through Charleston, it’s been all over. I mean I’ve painted a hundred murals across the country.”

The next mural is set to be painted starting Sunday at a spot along Highway 52.
