BTS Are Widening Their Lead Over All Other Artists For The Most No. 1 Hits - Forbes

BTS is currently on a break, but somehow, they're still winning on the Billboard charts. The group rules the World Digital Song Sales ranking yet again, and this time around, they're back at No. 1 with a tune that’s never owned the tally before. As they run the show once more, the band furthers their lead for the most champions in the list’s history, and it’s possible that no other act will be able to catch up to them at this point.

The South Korean boy band has now accrued a total of 36 No. 1 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart throughout their years. That’s one of the most impressive accumulations of leaders on any Billboard list, and on this specific tally, no one can come even close to matching their performance.

Currently, Blackpink is in second place on the ranking of the artists with the most No. 1 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart. The South Korean girl group has thus far earned nine champions on the tally. That’s a very healthy count, but it’s not even close to BTS.

In fact, as BTS snags their latest leader on the World Digital Song Sales chart, they now claim four times as many No. 1s as the runner-up act. Three fellow musical stars–all from South Korean–tie for the third-most winners. Psy, BigBang, and BTS member J-Hope have all reached the summit on that tally with five songs.

BTS currently rules the World Digital Song Sales chart with their tune “No More Dream.” The tune isn’t new, but it is new to the top spot on the purchase-only ranking. The track was released years ago, but as the band members all enlist in the South Korean military for their mandatory service, fans in the U.S. have been snapping up copies of their older cuts to bring them back to prominence.

The band has been adding to their count lately as this rush of support has helped a number of older tracks become first-time leaders. BTS replaced themselves atop the World Digital Song Sales chart this frame, with “No More Dream” taking over for another years-old tune that finally earned a moment to shine, “Spring Day.”
