As you may have heard, shoegaze is bigger than ever, thanks in part to TikTok and Gen Z. In an extensive article for Stereogum on this phenomenon, writer Eli Enis pointed out that one of the artists at the forefront of all this is Wisp, a teenage shoegaze solo artist whose 2023 debut single “Your Face” quickly racked up millions of TikTok views and Spotify streams and led to her signing to Interscope Records. She put two more singles out last year after that, and just released a fourth, “See You Soon.” It taps into so much of what made ’90s (and 2000s and 2010s) shoegaze so appealing, but it also feels distinctly modern. Wisp is also opening some of the dates on the cultishly-loved, back-in-action dream pop band Panchiko‘s upcoming tour (but not the NYC show, as originally announced). All dates are listed below.
