Creative minds inspired by the views of Zion National Park are invited to show off their skills.

The application period for the park's 2025 Artist-in-Residence Program is now open through July 19, 2024.

Artists are encouraged to submit an original piece of work inspired by their visit within six months of leaving Zion.

Officials say the artwork may be added to the park's permanent museum or interpretive collections or, in partnership with the Zion National Park Forever Project, may be used to financially support the Artist-in-Residence Program.

Artists-in-Residence will also take part in the Volunteers-in-Parks program and wear National Park Service volunteer uniforms, hosting open studio hours or interacting with visitors at or near trailheads.

Zion Artists-in-Residence will live and work in the desert environment of Southern Utah for one month. The program provides artists with park housing at no cost to them.

All professional artists who are American citizens or U.S. permanent residents are welcome to apply.

Two artists will be selected for the 2025 season and will each serve a month-long residency in:

  • February 2025
  • June 2025 or
  • Mid-October to mid-November 2025

The Artist-in-Residence Program aims to give artists the opportunity to pursue their creative discipline while being surrounded by the park's inspiring landscape.

The two 2025 Artists-in-Residence selectees will be announced in fall 2024.
