LONDON, England (KUTV) — Utah artist Benson Boone will open for the world’s biggest pop star in London next month.
Monday, Taylor Swift announced Boone as a guest artist during her London The Eras Tour stop in June.
For a little context, Boone played his first ever stadium of his career in Utah last month. The sold-out crowd at West Valley’s Maverik Center packed in 12,000 fans, which will pale in comparison to Wembley Stadium, where he will perform for a crowd of 90,000 next month.
After Boone’s concert in Utah on April 26, he posted on Instagram saying, “Probably the most emotional day of my life. I’m still wondering if this show even happened. Our first arena. Thank you for crying with me, singing with me, laughing with me, feeling with me. I promise you this is just the start of it, and I ain’t slowin down till these tires are burned into the street.”
The 21-year-old artist is set to share the stage with the world’s biggest pop star on June 23 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Taylor Swift announced guest artists for her London dates on Monday, May 27. On Instagram, Swift said, “Thought this might be a fun time to announce the first group of opening acts I’ll be adding to the London shows, going on before @paramore. I chose artists whose music I love listening to, and I can’t wait for them to add an extra jolt of excitement to our shows at Wembley Stadium in June. @mettenarrative, @wiffygriffy, and @bensonboone, welcome to the Eras Tour.”
Boone dropped his debut album “Fireworks & Rollerbladers” on April 5 of this year. Previously, he had released snippets of his original music on TikTok and Instagram, with his first single released in the fall of 2021, just two and a half years ago.
Boone’s family who live in Southern Utah is often spotted at his concerts, and he shares the stage with his younger sister Claire, who is still in high school. The brother-sister duo wowed Utah fans with a duet at his Salt Lake concert stop and share duets and videos on social media.
For those of you who have not yet heard of Boone or have heard his music and didn’t realize who you were listening to, here are a few things to know about the up-and-coming artist:
- Boone grew up in Monroe, Washington, before his family moved to St. George, Utah.
- Somehow, he did not know that he could sing until a Battle of the Bands appearance his junior year in high school. Their singer quit, he gave it a shot, and knocked his own socks off. (More about that here)

- Boone attended Brigham Young University-Idaho for a semester before leaving to focus on his music.

- Boone, like Swift, writes his own music and tells stories about his own life with through his lyrics.
