Bringing together 89 international art dealers hailing from 15 countries, TEFAF New York returns to the Park Avenue Armory from May 10 through 14—with an invite-only Collectors Preview May 9, 2024. Showcasing an intriguing range of fine art and design, jewelry and antiques, the fair will also present curated spaces set against the backdrop of the Armory’s period rooms, offering visitors and immersive experience marked by exploration and discovery.

Among the numerous artworks going on view, there is slated to be an extremely strong presence of women artists, including exhibitor presentations dedicated to women artists or solo artist exhibitions.
Director of TEFAF New York Leanne Jagtiani said, “TEFAF New York brings together the most captivating objects of modern and contemporary art, jewelry, antiquities, and design. This year, our dealers are signaling the growing presence of extraordinary female artists in the market with their selections. The diversity of these artists combined with out unparalleled commitment to quality further elevates the fair.”

Among these is Sprüth Mager’s booth, which is devoted to some of the gallery’s most well-known women artists, including Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, and Rosemarie Trockel. All three of these artists have been with the gallery since the 1980s and have maintained practices that have become synonymous with the pioneering of artistic cultural commentary.
Salon 94 will showcase upwards of seven reverse oil on glass paintings by Rebecca Salsbury James—a cornerstone of regional abstraction a close friend of Georgia O’Keeffe. Together, the presentation marks the largest presentation of her work outside of New Mexico since her passing in 1968.

And at Blum, the gallery’s exhibition will act as a continuation of their acclaimed 2023 group exhibition “Pictures Girls Make: Portraitures.” Curated by Alison M. Gingeras, the show will highlight an expanded selection of artists, including among them Ana Benaroya and Maureen Dougherty, as well as build upon the discourse surrounding the artistic genre and identity.
Other participating exhibitors emphasizing women artists include Hostler Burrows, Adrian Sassoon, and Maria Wettergren Galerie, that, collectively, bring a theme of fostering and promoting women artists within the art market and world through TEFAF New York.
TEFAF New York will be held May 10–14, 2024, at the Park Avenue Armory.
